Pregnancy, Birth & Parenting

Parenthood is a wonderful experience ! It is the best thing I have done in my life !

I absolutely loved being pregnant and enjoyed giving birth and more than anything I love being a mother !

I believe parenting should be natural and instinctual and the greatest lessons we have to learn are from other mammals and our ancestors.

Women in caves didn't have all the trinkets we have today but they managed to do just fine and bring up healthy and happy children - without the cry-it-out technique and all the awful things we are taught today. Gorillas and monkeys are the best example I believe as they are the closest to us -- the mother carries her baby with her everywhere she goes...

I'm not saying don't take your baby to the doctor if s'he is sick, but don't depend on others - you are the expert when it comes to your own baby.

I hope I have brought my point across because words don't seem to flow too easily for me today...

I'll try again some other time. :))

Anyway, if you have any questions please feel free to contact me.

I am a Doula in training

A Doula is a woman experienced in childbirth who provides continuous physical, emotional and informational support to the mother before, during and just after childbirth. Trained Doulas understand the physiology of birth and the emotional needs of a woman in labor. Generally, Doulas believe that pregnancy and birth are normal, natural and healthy processes. This includes preparation for birth helping the laboring woman with encouragement, comfort measures, relaxation techniques, and an objective viewpoint, as well as support after childbirth, such as help with breastfeeding.
